Pulse Jet Filter type MR

Structure and Operation

Pulse jet filters type MR consists of the following main subassemblies:

  • purified air chamber,
  • filter chamber,
  • filter bags assembly with cages,
  • chute with a rotary valve,
  • support structure,
  • wiring system with a control filter scanner.
The purified air chamber is rectangular. There are opened flaps or a roofing sheet at the top of the chamber. There is a pure air inlet on the side wall. The chamber is equipped with blow-off pipes, a compressed air collector, and solenoid valves. The compressed air collector gathers dehydrated and de-oiled air intended for bag regeneration. Compressed airflow for regeneration goes from the collector through solenoid valves, blow-off pipes and nozzles fitted on filter cages or in sleeves in the screen sheet.

The filter chamber is rectangular. There is a manhole in the filtering chamber that enables assembly and disassembly of cages with filter bags. Cages with filter bags are located inside the chamber. They are safeguarded by a row of shields from the inlet side. There is a vitiated air outlet on the filter chamber wall.

The assembly of filter bags with cages is mounted in the screen sheet between the purified air chamber and the filter chamber. Filter cages equipped with Venturi nozzles are place inside the bags. The nozzles are made of polypropylene or aluminium.

The chute is pyramidal or prismatic, with the rotary valve mounted to it. I is used for tight closure of the filter from the chute site and for dust removal.

The support structure consists of a frame on which the filter and support are mounted. The filter may be equipped with a ladder and railings at the top.

The wiring system consists of a control filter scanner and cables that connect the control filter scanner with solenoid valves for filter bags regeneration.

Operation of pulse jet filter type MR
Vitiated air is fed to an expansion chamber in the filtering chamber. Then, vitiated air goes through filter bags. Dust remains on the outside surface of bags. Purified air goes through filter bags to the purified air chamber and then is discharged outside of the filter. As time goes by, thickness of dust cover on bags increases. Dust is removed from bags by compressed air pulses directed to each bag. Compressed air pulse is generated by a solenoid valve controlled from the control cabinet. The valve opens for a very short period of time and compressed air from the collector goes as a pulse into blow-off pipes from which it reaches Venturi nozzles through openings located over each bag. The generated compressed air pulse is strengthened in the nozzle and goes forth as an air wave along the bag resulting in its bulging and dust drop-off. Dust falls down to the chute and then is removed outside the filter via the screw conveyor and chamber feeder.

Regeneration of filter bags of pulse jet filters type MR is operated by the following types of control filter scanners:
  • with time control in which the pulse duration and regeneration frequency are set up,
  • with Δp control in case of which filter bag regeneration depends on resistance of air flow through filter bags.
Filter bag regeneration takes place successively via individual rows without switching off the filter. Regeneration frequency and pulse duration are set up in a control filter scanner depending on filtration parameters.
